Ministry Renee was birthed out of (pun intended) a ministry that originally started just praying, visiting and giving a little gift bag to moms after they had given birth at the local public birthing hospital in Siguatepeque, Honduras. After a couple of years of hearing many stories from women about their experiences coupled with our own experiences of what we had seen, we felt like God was calling us to do something more! We acknowledged the need for compassion, education and evidence-based practices for both the mothers and clinic staff.
In 2013 a mid-wife friend came to train a few women to become doulas so as to better serve these women. With this training a door was opened for us to go in with the women and accompany them during their labor, delivery and recovery. This was a true miracle of God! We started going as often as we could, mostly in the nights. In 2015, after 2 years of this ministry and assisting at least 30 women we felt that it was time to take the next step. Many doors were opened that brought us to partner with more public birthing hospitals, doctors, hospital administrations and the like offering educational classes and seminars with much more to come.
